If an overnight stay is in your interest, I have several great recommendations close by!
Spaces will be limited to ensure quality and attention to all workshop projects. This is a beginner's, no sew, one-day, upholstery workshop. No experience is needed. Chair will need to be torn down before the workshop. I will provide guidance for this task before hand via call or text.
Total cost: $225... $100 deposit is required upfront but will be taken off of the total balance. After deposit is paid, remaining balance will be $125 on or before the day of the workshop.
This is a beginner's, no sew, one-day, upholstery workshop. No experience is needed.
What to bring with you:
1. Your Chair- Your chair will need to be torn down prior to the class. Be sure to tear down carefully as we will use old fabrics to make your new pattern on your new fabric or leather. Bring all of the old scraps with you, even if they are torn. (taking photos of your chair before and during tear down can also be helpful for when we go back to reupholster!)
2. Tools- If you have them
3. Materials- this will include your fabric, leather, nail heads or trim, new foam (if needed), and dacron batting.
These items will all need to be approved at least one week before the class to ensure we will have everything we need to help you complete your project in the allotted time. Chair frames will need to be sturdy in condition to ensure no extra repair is required. Any handmade leather fringe or piping can be available upon request for an additional cost.
Project approvals can be made through text! I just need to see a photo of your desired project for approval. If you need help finding fabric or materials, I will help you calculate all yardage, foam, batting, and decorative finishes needed before the workshop. KEEP IN MIND proper upholstery fabrics are made to last and are very important for a successful project. Home décor fabrics, heavy duty fabrics, canvas, leather or cowhide are all great options. For an additional cost, I can provide them and bring them to the workshop for you.
Workshop will include the following:
Drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided. Basic tool use, instruction for tear down, and reupholstery. A link will be provided with my preferred basic tools before the class. You are not required to purchase these tools, although bringing your own tools will be helpful. These tools can be found at your local Home Depot or Lowes as well.
